The rates for the Merrimack Village District (MVD) are established and updated by the MVD Board of Commissioners (BOC) in accordance with New Hampshire state law. Rate-setting authority is granted under New Hampshire RSA 38:28, which allows the BOC to establish the Schedule of Rates. 

MVD periodically hires independent firms to complete comprehensive water rate studies. These assessments examine MVD's financial data to evaluate the necessity and potential implications of any rate changes. The results and recommendations of the study are provided for review by MVD & the BOC. Should the BOC determine a rate change is in order, a public hearing will be held prior to any changes.
